Stacey Lannert is a survivor of sexual abuse who gained national attention for her case. She was born on January 19, 1975, in St. Louis, Missouri. At the age of 18, she was sentenced to life in prison for killing her father, who had been sexually abusing her since she was 9 years old.
Lannert's case sparked a national debate about the impact of childhood sexual abuse on survivors and the justice system's treatment of victims. In 2009, after serving 18 years in prison, she was granted clemency by the Missouri governor and released from prison.
Since her release, Lannert has become an advocate for survivors of sexual abuse and has shared her story to raise awareness about the prevalence of abuse and the importance of supporting survivors. She has also worked as a motivational speaker, author, and activist, speaking out against child abuse and advocating for criminal justice reform.
